Planning the Perfect Headshot Session
To ensure a smooth and efficient process, we scheduled a design consultation to discuss key elements like:

- The best locations within their office space for the shoot
After reviewing all the details, we settled on two specific areas within the office, including an incredible American flag backdrop that perfectly aligned with Maven Roofing’s values. Additionally, we planned for a team composite image that would evolve as the company grows.
Preparation & Test Shots
A week before the session, I conducted a test shoot to ensure everything would come together flawlessly. I brought the necessary equipment to create three different setups, ensuring flexibility and the ability to adjust lighting as needed. This preparation step is crucial to guarantee efficiency on the day of the shoot, especially when working with busy professionals.
The Headshot Session & Overcoming Challenges
Like any on-location shoot, the session came with a few unexpected challenges. That morning, I received a call from my child’s school about a fever, and my strobe trigger screen got damaged in transit. Thankfully, grandma stepped in to help at home, and I relied on my experience with the Westcott trigger system to adapt on the fly.
Despite the hiccups, the shoot itself went smoothly. The lighting, angles, and poses aligned perfectly with the vision Amanda and I had discussed, and the final results showcased the professionalism and confidence of the Maven Roofing team.
